Let your guests start spraying!

Don’t let our airbrush artists have all the fun! Our tie-dye station uses spray bottles to let your guests channel their inner artist and create their own custom apparel.

What to Expect

Event guests can either drop-in to the tie-dye station when they want, or be brought in by waves (depending on what you and our event planner think make the most sense for our event).

The guests pick out their apparel (depending on what you’ve selected ahead of time) and then are shown by our professional tie-dye artists how to band it.

Then, they’ll pick up some gloves and spray in the colors they want to their design.

Finally, they’ll add their design to a labeled bag to take home and throw into the drier after your event is over.

Art options

All of our tie-dye stations are built the same: our artists come with elastic bands and an array of colors. Your guests then decide how they want to band their designs (simple ombre or classic spiral) then pick their own colors.

Logistical requirements

Our tie-dye station is mostly mess-free, but we need your help to make sure artists are set up to succeed:

Interview with Kenny: Professional Event Entertainer

Are you really a professional tie-dye artist?

Sure am! I learned to tie-dye as a camp counselor wayyyyyy back in the day. Then I went to art school, and now tie-dye spray stations are one of the things I run here at Airbrush New England.

How did you start as an event entertainer?

I actually started as a clown back when I was in high school! I love making people laugh and I love working with kids. Eventually we started Kaleidoscope, and from there we started a few smaller companies like Princess Perfect, New England Foam Party and Airbrush New England.

We have smaller companies because the amount of art we know how to do was just too much to make sense of under one brand. I know balloon twisting, face painting, clowning, magic… way more stuff than I could list here. I have my dream career!

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the tie-dye spray station?

Hiring more artists than you think you’re going to need will make for a better guest experience. If all your party guests rush us artists at once, it can turn out to be pretty chaotic. We can do it, but if you hire an extra artist or two your guests will have a more fun, hands-on time.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Making people smile! I come from an art background where we’re mostly taught to just sit alone in a studio and paint, but I remember one college art professor saying “you have the only major where people are excited to see your homeework.”

I love being a professional artist, but I love being a professional event entertainer even more.

What is the most memorable event you’ve ever worked?

It’s not so much an event as it is a family. For years I had one family hire me for every occassion you could think of: birthdays, Christmas, Easter, graduations, end of school parties… I got to do my magic show, science show, airbrush artitry for t-shirts, face painting, balloon twisting… eventually their kids grew up, but it was amazing to see them every few months for years!
